Fed: Three holiday road deaths so far

SYDNEY, Dec 20 AAP - The death of a motorcyclist in central Queensland has taken the Christmas/New Year road toll to three.

A motorcyclist died after hitting a pedestrian on Hospital Road, in Emerald, about 2.50am (AEST) on Saturday, a Emergency Management Queensland (EMQ) spokeswoman said.

The pedestrian, aged in his 20s, suffered arm and shoulder injuries and was recovering in the Emerald Hospital.

The national road toll for the holiday period now stands at three after a woman in the Northern Territory and a man in Victoria died on Friday.
